Problem 1) An aircraft wing box consists of a single cell four stringer section shown in the figure below. Stringers areas are, A, AEA, A2=2A, A3=3A. All webs have equal thickness t. The first figure shows the load distribution on the wing, i.e. the force P is produced by the weight of the engine (assume that the left end of the beam is clamped). The second figure shows the location of the shear force at x=5m along the span of the wing. In answering the questions assume that the thin sheets of equal thickness t are ineffective in bending. You may assume that all material properties (E, G, V) are known. a. What is the value of Vz at x= 5m? b. Find the shear flow in each web section shown in the second figure? C.
